Budgeting Tools: Central Star’s Balance Program

First up, in our Budgeting Tools category is Central Star’s own program Balance.

Balance offers members certified counselors to speak with, help with managing money and debt, credit report reviews, home purchase counseling, and solutions to prevent identity theft.

They also offer three online tools designed to guide you through understanding and maintaining your finances. BalanceTrack offers mini financial education courses. OnTrack is an actual budget-making program. Financial Education provides in-depth articles, podcasts, calculators, and other resources to expand your fiscal knowledge.

Meet Central Star’s President Lee Williams

Lee Williams has worked in finance for over 30 years. For the last 13 years, she has served as Central Star Credit Union’s CEO. Interested in empowering individuals and improving the communities in which they live, Lee, is also a member of several local and national boards. Her areas of expertise are: financial literacy, budgeting, investing, predatory lending, and payday lending.  Lee Williams has presented to both local and national audiences, won numerous awards and recognitions in the financial community, and presented before Congress and state legislature. We will see a lot of Lee on this blog. She will be answering questions, giving advice, and even telling funny stories.
